Resizing the Store Width

I would like to set the width of my store to 800 Pixels. The Order page looks good under this setting, but the main page has the left and right nav bars. The ideal situation would be to have nav bar across the top like PNY.com. But setting the width is a must. Can anyone help?

960px is the narrowest I would go. Less than 1.7% of all visitors to AbleCommerce are using < 1024 x 768 (960px). Perhaps dropping the left navigation and keeping the right might be considered?

I want to change my store from 100% width to 960px. Where do I make this change? Is it in the style.css file? I've tweaked a few settings but can't get it to work. I'm using the Glass-SilverAge theme.
