Editor zone gone

Im logged into admin and i go to the store front and the editor zone is not visible. the project was handed to me by some1 else and not sure if they deleted some code for it or not? how can i re-enable the editor zone?

It could happen if the theme has been modified wrongly. Try to apply a different theme and see if editor zone appears or not. If it does not appear with some default AbleCommerce theme something else must be wrong...
