Search- look up on back end failed

I've been imputing new products on our site with SKU's (same procedure as always) When I went back to do a search on the back end of our site by SKU/Keywords the product is not found. (This is only happening with the new item, old items are not affected.) However, on the store front I am able to find the item by name and SKU. Is there a setting I must have clicked to disabled the search function? How can I fix this issue so I can search for the products on the back end? Any help appreciated!! Thanks

If you are using Gold, try clicking the button in the admin to reindex. Depending on how you are importing the products, that might be necessary.
