Marketing Tools

Post by Tomgard » Tue Jan 06, 2009 12:18 pm

Has anyone been able to add marketing features to things like packing slips, invoices, email order confirmations by making modifications to email templates that Able has provided. There is a lot of wasted realty in those forms and some graphical coupons or offers might be well worth some effort. I am just not sure how much effort that would take and/or if it is even possible using the existing forms.

Is it possible? Scale of difficulty?

I have added company logo and images for a gift certificate.
Like this
<p>
<img src='$store.StoreUrl/Assets/ProductImages/GCDPB.jpg' border="0" />
</p>

DON'T OPEN the template up in the WYSIWYG editor, though. It can corrupt everything.

My initial thought is to pull over something MORE than just a related product, top seller or product accessories as they have already seen these during their shopping experiance. What I would think would be most effective is something that will encourage another visit such as a 'shipping offer' or 'New Products' or 'Coupon Code' for something post purchase. During this last Christmas season up to 50% of my daily sales were being shipped to places other than the bill to address...lots of new potential customers if an attractive offer was included on the packing slip. I could go in different directions with the details on this so it sounds like some order variables would need to be in place for this to be as effective as possible.
