We are encountering a navigation issue on our site.
Background: Part of our product line includes hardware for guitars and basses. Some of this hardware can be used for either instrument type. As a result, we have some hardware items in more than one product category. Some items are also in sub-categories in order to group like items.
When a customer is viewing guitar parts and uses a nav bar to navigate up to another category, it switches to the bass hardware section. This only happens if the customer is looking at the details of an item and the major categories are visible.
Example:
Go to http://dev.warmoth.com/ and the guitars section. Navigate to Hardware/Guitar/Parts&Electronics/Copper Shielding. Select either tape part so you are viewing the details of the part. Click on the Capacitors section on the left side of the screen. You'll end up in capacitors in the bass section. This is repeatable with Neck & Control plates, Capacitors, Potentiometers categories.
This will be very confusing to many of our customers. Any suggestions? The customer needs to remain in their chosen instrument type. We're ready to go live early next week and are tryin to tie up little things like this.
Thanks,
Category navigation issue

Re: Category navigation issue
How are you generating your left nav on those pages? The category breadcrumbs are OK.

Re: Category navigation issue
It is a custom version of the simple category list conlib. If the result returns no categories then it looks at the parent category and returns the categories in the parents group.

Re: Category navigation issue
I think that is the culprit. It is only picking up the category in the parent group and not the one in the proper subcategory. Hover over the link in the breadcrumbs and compare the C## with the one in the left nav.
