I'm finding myself constantly in need of verification that the customer was notified. I really need a warm-fuzzy to reassure me the communication flow is happening as expected.

Can we get some sort of message log showing date, time, email address, template sent (or message sent) and success/failure?

I'll toss in a 12-pack of Pepsi if that'll sweeten the deal :wink:

I agree, a full audit capability is a high priority to me. Every e-mail that is sent manually especially. It would be neat to almost have a help desk type feature where you can send an e-mail from the store, the customer replies to this e-mail and the entire communication thread can be reviewed at any later date. Merchants may need to review e-mails sent by a staff that said something wrong, quoted a price wrong, etc. Many reasons, a solid audit capability is very important for businesses.

Right now it's very nice that communication is stored with each order.

But managing communications on multiple orders will get combersome quickly given the current design. My only way of knowing I have multiple orders with communications is separate emails in my Outlook Inbox.

Something that centralizes the inbound correspondence, like a simply Inbox would be magnificant. It could list all messages, mark those replied to and link the associated order number all on one screen.

That would put me in a position where I have one place to go to manage all customer communication responses.

Or just put a flag on the order summary list indicating a message waiting and reset the flag when the message has been viewed. That way I can see which orders have a message waiting and know they require action on my part.

But in the end, just a log of messages coming and going would be swell. As it is now, I really don't know if the message went - I can only assume the lack of an entry in the error log means it worked.

I solved this to certain degree but not entirely. I wrote a dashboard control that shows recent order history notes. Check it out at http://www.ablemods.com/Latest-Notes-Plugin-P25C12.aspx

It won't show if the message actually went or not, but at least I always see the latest order notes every time I log into my sites. It's been a huge help as far as reminding me that I have new messages that need a response.
