This friend of mine needs an ETA date field when zero stock

I have this friend of mine who wants to activate inventory tracking. He can pull all the current stock values from a feed, but some items are out of stock. He'd like to provide his shoppers with an ETA date for the out-of-stock product(s)

Is this like a major change? Or could I tell my friend he just has to add the field to the table?

My friend doesn't want to make a lot of changes to the base structure of his AC7 install - that would just make his job all that much harder with updates and upgrades.

He's already got his hands full and really doesn't seem in the mood for (any more) major projects lately.

I created a workaround for it now. Since I have written a program that syncs my entire product list to my distributor, I can just add a line to the product description that states the expected arrival date for more stock.

Not ideal, but solves the problem for now.

Good idea. :) A good portion of our products have options, so this could get a little messy. hmmmm
