Ability to delete variants

Post by troutlet » Tue Jan 22, 2008 4:48 am

When using the ConLib:BuyProductDialogOptionsList variants are created by adding sets of options which are in turn used to create every possible combination of variants. It would be nice and practical to be able to delete the unwanted combinations from the Manage Variants screen.

I agree. A larger collection of choices can get quite messy. You can disable the appearance of a variant with the "Enable" checkbox, but it cannot be removed from the variant grid so far as I know.

Another thing I would like is for the manage variant screen to show what the attribute name is. For example, I had started on a site where we were going to have to use options for accessories instead of kits because we wanted the customer to be able to not select something. There was a coverlet in sizes, a duvet in sizes, pillows in colors, etc. On the variant screen it would say something like twin, queen, blue twin, full, blue etc. I would have to go back to the options screen to see what was twin, what was queen, was it a blue this or a blue that.

I had the same problem on a few products, really slowed me down setting up the variants.

But the screen is getting pretty busy as it is now. Maybe a two-line layout for each variant or at least one of those little bubble pop-up help windows would be spiffy.

Yes, I said spiffy. :P

Is it possible to export the variant table and re-import it?
