Data Port - Command Line

Post by RickatRITE » Thu Apr 17, 2008 4:53 pm

Hello - you should allow us to use the data port utlity from the command line.

By doing so we could then create batch files, etc etc, that would allow the scheduling of data import and export which would be sweet.

Thanks

Me too!

I'm thinking of building an offline DB with an interface optimized for speedy product management that can feed updates/additions to the site automatically by invoking DP with a command line. I'm sick and tired of having to go to 12 different pages to enter stuff, clicking 'Save' and waiting for redraws.

Even better would be a denser, enter/edit (nearly) everything about a product on a single page (maybe two) and hit 'Save' just once (or twice) alternative built right in to the admin. Way too many clicks as it stands now.

This feature is a big deal in connecting to legacy or disparate systems. Automation support is key in catering/marketing/supporting corporate environments and is a real sign that a product is more "mature." Please seriously consider
