Developers,
Are you working on on a patch for customers to be able to change their billing address on an order if they put in the wrong billing address for the credit card and it is rejected. As you know, without this the patch for credit card validation isn't much use for a lot of us since a large percentage of rejected cards are due to wrong billing addresses, and we lose orders without the ability for a customer to correct this. Also, a problem we are encountering with our attempts to integrate this feature is that Authorize.net rejects orders where the customer fixes their billing address as duplicates and rejects them. Please let me know - thanks so much!

Re: Developers: Orders change billing address, validation patch
Maybe I'm missing something(my site is still being developed), but I think this feature is already in place.
Open the order. On the left side you will see Edit Addresses. Change address = profit?
Let me know if this does not work, because this is something that I would need to bring to attention before I go live.

No, this is not it. That feature allows you to change the billing address AFTER an order has been placed. Right now customers are completely unable to change their billing address if their credit card is rejected due to a wrong billing address. So, they are stopped dead in the water and cannot place their order. The only other option that Able gives you is to not have credit cards verified at all, which is a nightmare. That means that customers can make tons of mistakes in submitting their order/entering payment data, which they always do, and they will not even know it - Able tells them their order has been submitted successfully. Or, people with fraudulent credit cards or whatever can process orders and you have to go hunt them down to see if they're legit or not. This is horrible for fraud. And it's a pain and loads of time for you to hunt down the customers and an inconvenience for the customers.

Hello,
If you sell higher dollar items then this is a terrific feature. That has been requested many times. It's just not for everyone. It certainly doesn't promote fraud, I'll have to disagree with that.

You're right, it is a hand feature - and it doesn't make the site insecure. But could it potentially make you have to deal with fraudsters who make false orders, then when you are trying to hunt down the customer? Not dangerous, maybe just a nuisance - you're right, probly not a big deal. I don't mean to be putting down the software in any way if it came off like that, my apologies. It's just, a solution to the billing address/validation dilemma would be helpful.
