USPS box size dimension

Post by kastnerd » Mon Feb 23, 2009 7:25 am

Currently USPS shipping gateway never uses dimensions. But USPS has tighter dimensions requirements than other shippers so its one of the more important gateways to include this.

Currently able only passes dimensions on a few rare occasions but i hope that also gets improved soon.

a 3lbs box with out entering size costs. 11.95 to go across the country.
But the box size is 23x23x5 so it cost 37.80

UPS and Fedex Ground do not charge extra for this size box but USPS priority dose. So its vary important to show that USPS costs more then UPS or Fedex for this box

This is really needed. There are many items in our catalog for example, that do not fit in the USPS Priority Mail International Flat Rate Box.
The best we could do was put notice in the shipping selection section about the size restrictions, but many do not read it.

Many folks need those measurements to actually affect what shipping methods display. Thanks.

Agreed... This is needed along with the long asked for way to add box weight into the shipping calc.
