I imported the following records twice:
7,1,0,Shop By Family,,,,Shop By Family,,,,0,Do not delete
8,1,0,Shop By Price,,,,Shop By Price,,,,0,Do not delete
9,1,0,Shop By Other,,,,Shop By Other,,,,0,Do not delete
I selected the first option for IMPORT new objects UPDATE existing objects.
I ended up with 6 categories!
BUG -- Dataport 7.0.2.1 creates duplicates Categories
Re: BUG -- Dataport 7.0.2.1 creates duplicates Categories
The bug only happened the first time I submitted it twice. I resubmitted the file again using all three options and it worked okay.

Re: BUG -- Dataport 7.0.2.1 creates duplicates Categories
Yes. I originally uploaded the following catgories:
7,1,0,Shop By Family,,,,Shop By Family,,,,0,Do not delete
8,1,0,Shop By Price,,,,Shop By Price,,,,0,Do not delete
9,1,0,Shop By Other,,,,Shop By Other,,,,0,Do not delete
I later changed category 9 to "Shop By Category" via the web admin.
When I re-import the above records, it creates a NEW Shop By Other category. The second time through, it ignores the category id and assumes I want a new category. If that's how it's supposed to work, there isn't any way then to update category names unless you do it one by one in the web admin or you do it via SQL.
