When we try to update products using the Dataport tool it creates new products rather than updating existing products. We been uploading without a productID ans assume it will match them using the SKU. Can someone describe the procedure for overwriting changed existing files. We are using the csv mode for uploading data.

If you are using a DataPort version 7.0.2 or below then the ProductId field is used to match products while updating. If your csv data does not contain any new products then use the "Update Only" option. This will not create any new products even if your csv products fail to match any existing products.
If you are using DataPort 7.0.3.1 (for 7.0.3 version of stores only) then you can select/define you own key fields (like SKU). The products will be matched and updated using using your own defined criteria.
