DataPort for AC 7.0.3

Post by bcc » Mon Jun 29, 2009 10:05 pm

Looks like the latest released version of dataport is 7.0.2 When I used it to connect to 7.0.3 shopping cart, I got version mismatch error. Should I downgrade the dll in /bin directory to 7.0.2?
thanks!

A beta version of DataPort for 7.0.3 is available(if you want to give it a try):

I downloaded the Dataport 7.0.3 beta, installed in my PC and copied the commercebuilder.dataclient.api.dll to the shopping cart server. Now, when I tried to connect to it, I got
Error : The remote server returned an error: (500) Internal Server Error.
Any suggestion?

Please try to re-start your sever system and try again. If it still did not solve the issue, try to browse the DataPort ClientApi service URL in your browser. And post the detailed response here. The service url will be something like:

http://[YOUR WEBSITE DOMAIN NAME]/ClientApi/ClientApiService.ashx

I found the problem. I renamed the original dll to something like dll_original and left in the folder and that caused the problem. After I moved the original dll outside the folder, I was able to connect the data client to the server.

You can't have two versions for same dll in bin folder because that confuses the application with same duplicate data. This is something that causes problems for .NET it self when locating classes etc.

1. If you are using DataPort 7.0.3 beta version then the DataPort can fail to start due to a security issue on vista. As the application is not digitally signed, so it may be blocked by some anti-spyware, anti-virus application. A final version is available for DataPort 7.0.3. You can download the latest versions of DataPort at:

ftp://ftp.ablecommerce.com/dataport

2. Please have a look at the following post for a discussion related to a similar problem :
