Upload items with options & choices using dataport

Is there a way that I can upload an item and using an xml template preset an option and list several choices. Say, upload a t-shirt and list that it comes in small, medium and large. I tried to create an xml using excel and listed "Option" and "Choice" as column headers but the dataport would not load the xml as a template.

For this you need to make use of XML import. You can make use of some XML editor to add/modify data in XML file and then import it via DataPort. For example try XML Marker. The best way for this could be to first make use of XML export and export the products data. This will give you the working XML file in desired format then make use of XML editor to add the data to it.

Am I missing something here? Where do I need to go in 7.0 to find this so called "Date Import Wizard"? We have sheets of xml files we are trying to upload, and now can find where to go. This has to be the supidest question all day

DataPort is a desktop application that connects to AbleCommerce powered store and imports CSV and XML data. Read about DataPort from here

You can use DataPort vs. 7.0.3.1 beta to upload/download options and variants in CSV format. However to use DataPort 7.0.3.x, your store version must be 7.0.3.
