Is there a way to shcedule DataPort Utility import

Post by dooleymort » Mon Jul 13, 2009 11:17 am

I have a feed of products, and would like it if I could somehow automate the import process.

Can I can schedule the upload through DataPort or use a scheduled task?
I read the post viewtopic.php?f=61&t=9385
but, was not sure if there have been any updates.

Thank you.

Scheduling is on our wish-list for future enhancements, and it is currently not supported.

Can you please explain that what options you would like to see regarding this feature?

I would like to be able to save my settings that I specify when I import.
(I specify the file with my products to import, the file with mapping settings), I would also like to specify the time to import.

Does anyone have a work-around?
I'd really rather not give my retail sales reps access to the server.

Thank you.

Can anyone help me out with this one here? I can't tell if I can use DataPort anywhere else other than the server. I tried to install the beta version of DataPort on my laptop, and was not successful :? Is this even possible?

I just need some way to allow someone other than me to import products on a daily basis, without allowing them access to the server.

Any suggestions anyone?

I think you are using windows vista? And facing the installation problem. A similar problem is discussed in the following thread and a work around is also suggested:
