Hello,
A few weeks ago I upgraded from 7.0.0 to 7.0.3. I had the site developed on a new server, installed 7.0.3 on the new server, did the development then used DataPort to import all of the data.
I just noticed an issue I am having... The OrderID and OrderNumber are off. For example, I have an OrderNumber of 14712 and the OrderID is 14709.
I am running another AC 7.0.3 site that started out new and did not need any data transfer and the OrderID and OrderNumber are the same.
Something must have went a little wrong somewhere in the transfer. I do have database access. Is there anyway to change this so that they will start being the same?
I am not sure what issues it may cause but what made me notice this is when I go into the admin and add a tracking number to a package it will put a comma before the tracking number like
, 1Z8005050505050
and both of them are linked to UPS tracking links. Then when I looked at the URL I noticed it looks like this
/Admin/Orders/Shipments/Default.aspx?OrderNumber=14712&OrderId=14709
Please Heeellpp... Thank you!

Re: OrderID and OrderNumber
The ordernumber and orderid can be out of synch on an upgrade. I have seen it happen with no dataport involved.

Re: OrderID and OrderNumber
Please use the order number to identify the orders. There is no harm if the the order id and order number are not same, so you do not need to worry about this issue.I am not sure what issues

Re: OrderID and OrderNumber
Judy,
Is there a way to go into the database and make changes so that the orderid and ordernumber are the same?
What is bothering me is that now everytime I add a tracking number it includes a blank tracking number in the customer history. It probably sends them out an additional email as well...
Thank you.

Re: OrderID and OrderNumber
The orderid is an autonumber field so you really cant turn that off, make changes, and turn it back on in a live site and you would also have to change the foreign key everywhere the numbers were used in other tables. There is no guarantee that they would stay matched up either.
You might check your email templates and make sure they are displaying the order number instead of the orderid. On the tracking number, check your other site and see if it is working OK there. Maybe something was skewed on the site you upgraded.
