How to bulk import images for variants and sig. of weight et

Post by creativespark » Wed Dec 23, 2009 12:50 am

Hi Naved/ Other contributors,
Its good to have the variant option included in the dataport utility - http://wiki.ablecommerce.com/index.php/ ... riants_CSV as provided by you. I went through the same and have tried to find on my own but have 2-3 doubts which i feel you all can help me with.

1. How to bulk import variant images as the field for url / path of images for that does not seem to be provided in CSV.
2. What is the significance of "MODIFY" in VariantWeightMode mode field and VariantPriceMode and what other value can be there.
3. Any plans for bulk upload to Kits facility.

Any assistance on the same is greatly appreciated.

1. How to bulk import variant images as the field for url / path of images for that does not seem to be provided in CSV.
I think you can use the products xml import for this feature. It will be a little complex but should work. First export all your products data and then import the data back to your store after updating images.
2. What is the significance of "MODIFY" in VariantWeightMode mode field and VariantPriceMode and what other value can be there.
To learn more about these fields, just open the web admin interface review the catalog product/variants editing pages for details. (/Admin/Products/Variants/Variants.aspx page). Possible values can be Modify or Override.

In-fact these specify that how the values for VariantPrice and VariantWeight will be applied.
