Able Commerce 5.5 Import Error

Post by mfreeze » Thu Apr 15, 2010 2:38 pm

I exported an Able Commerce 5.5 CFMX site and when I try to import it into an AC 7.04 file it imports 41 products then fails on every other product with the following message.

An error has occured while importing AC5x data. at CommerceBuilder.DataClient.Api.ObjectHandlers.ImportHandler.a(AC5xImportRequest A_0)
Message:Index was outside the bounds of the array.
<?xml version="1.0" ?>
<AbleCommerceExport>
<ExportVersion>5.5</ExportVersion>
<SourceVersion>5.0</SourceVersion>
<Stores><Store>

<Products><Product ID="76">
<Name>Discovering+Your+Subconscious</Name>
<UnitPrice>24.95</UnitPri...
CHUNK # 24

Can somebody at Able help me with this issue? I have attached the import log and I can email the zipped XML file if needed.

This error log reflects an import with only categories and products selected with a chunk size of 1. I did this import after the original failure of the full import to make it easier to find the failing products. I can rerun the full import and attach that log if necessary.

Can somebody help me out here? I'm trying to get all these old CFMX stores upgraded and the message I am getting is rather obscure. I have looked and looked at the products in the XML and just can't see anything obviously wrong with them.

I have uploaded the provided data to my local 7.4 installation. However I was able to import all products without facing any such issue. Tried a number of times with different settings, but no luck to reproduce the issue.

I was using the new Universal DataPort v7.4.236 Beta for testing purpose:
viewtopic.php?f=61&t=13423

I can only think of that there might be some thing wrong with your store installation. Or there might be some DataPort versioning issue. Please post more details about the DataPort version and the API version ( from Admin -> About AbleCommerce page).

Hello Mary,

Please confirm you're using the latest version of the dataport, seems you're using an older version.

I downloaded the latest (beta) dataport and client files and still got errors. It did import more products but there are still several hundred that failed with the AC55 import error message. The failing products got the same message. I have attached the latest error log folder.

An error has occured while importing AC5x data. at System.String.InternalSubStringWithChecks(Int32 startIndex, Int32 length, Boolean fAlwaysCopy)
at CommerceBuilder.DataClient.Api.ObjectHandlers.ImportHandler.a(AC5xImportRequest A_0)
Message:Length cannot be less than zero.
Parameter name: length
<?xml version="1.0" ?>
<AbleCommerceExport>
<ExportVersion>5.5</ExportVersion>
<SourceVersion>5.0</SourceVersion>
<Stores><Store>

<Products><Product ID="76">
<Name>Discovering+Your+Subconscious</Name>
<UnitPrice>24.95</UnitPri...

Again, this was just categories and products being imported to save time. The dataport release is now 7.4.236 and the client files are

CommerceBuilder.DataClient.Api: 7.4.13416.0
CommerceBuilder.DataClient.Csv: 7.0.34.0
DataPort.Framework: 1.0.0.0

These are the latest files from the 7.4.236 ClientApi 7.04 folder.

CommerceBuilder.DataClient.Api: 7.4.13416.0
Hello Mary,

The latest released version of CommerceBuilder.DataClient.Api.dll is "7.4.13700.0" for 7.4 version of stores. I think you have not properly deployed the API dll and other files.

You can download the latest version of DataPort and other API files at:
ftp://ftp.ablecommerce.com/DataPort/bet ... .4.236.zip

Please use the latest version. I hope this issue will not be reproduced with latest version.

Hello Naveed,

Could it possibly be something with the SQL 2000 schema? That seems to be the only thing different with your system.
Thanks for your support

Hello Mary,

I tested again with your provided AC55 data, but still unable to reproduce the mentioned issue with products. After reviewing the implementation I suspect the issue might exists for "Id Mapping" feature. Can you please provide me some more details that what "Preserve ID options" and "Persistent ID Mapping" options you are using. And if you are using an existing ID mapping file then it will be helpful for me if you provide me the ID mapping file as well.

Check your email for more details.

Mike I am not sure, however I have done some more testing and I think the issue might exist for ID mapping feature. I have sent some detailed instructions to Mary in email to further debug and identify the issue.

Ok. Now I am REALLY confused. I copied your new debug dll files to the site and re-ran the import with the same data and the only errors I got were the normal 'category not found'. All the funky errors are gone and all products imported.

You must be a magician or there was a problem with the dll files I downloaded from the ftp site and this data. I know they work with other data because I am using the same ones in other sites that I have successfully imported 5.5 stores into.

Either over the weekend or on Monday, I will try to import the full store from the same XML file. Wish me luck!

Thank you for your persistance in dealing with this issue.

Re: Able Commerce 5.5 Import Error

I am still having a couple of problems with this import.

First problem, I get a lot of the following error on the import and cant' figure out what is causing it. If I go to the product I see the association but it indicates that the file is missing. The files are all in a subdirectories of the digital goods folder but when I go to manage digital goods they all say 'missing'. If I go to digital goods files, I see them all there.

Code: Select all

Warning: Invalid product file association detected. The file is associated to a variant that could not be correctly mapped. File association is not imported. Product: The Unseen Friends, File: Unseen Friends - Side 1, Invalid OSD_ID: 2, Node Data:<ProductFile Product_ID="70" OSD_ID="2" File_ID="312" />
The second problem is that if I go to manage digital goods try to edit the file name for one of the digital goods. I first get the Update File Name dialog but the Valid Extensions has only 'zip' and when I try to rename it to a file with another extension I get the message 'file name is not valid. The file names in the AC 5.5 site are all in the format \Mp4s\3002.mp4 or \Evenings\740s1_128K.mp3 where the folder Mp4s is a subdirectory of the digital goods folder.

I have a other sites using mp3 and mp4 extensions that are working fine but they are not 7.04 sites but 7.0.0 and 7.0.3.

I can give you a login to the new site if you need to see the problem directly. PM me and I will furnish one.

From "Administration > Configure > Security > System Settings" you can specify the list of valid extensions for Digital Good files. Please update the system settings before trying to import. This option is recently added to newer versions to improve the security.

Hello manmaoyy,

Can you please create a new thread for your issue. Also post more details related to your issue, like:

1. Error message details.
2. What version of Store you upgrading to.
3. What version of DataPort you are using.

Steps to reproduce the issue and some sample data will really help us to understand and reply back.

We went ahead with the conversion and manually fixed the digital goods issue so we no longer need assistance.

Thanks for your response.
