Uploading NEW Products with Variants + other fields

Hi,

I would like to upload new products with variants. However, in addition to the fields provided, I want to add fields that are seen in a Product Upload ( Description, Summary, Vendor, Search Keywords, etc) without variants. When I try to do a Variant Upload with additional fields, they are not recognized. Can someone please help me???? I'm basically looking to marry the Product Upload fields and the Product Variant Upload fields. My goal is to mass upload my new products and have as many fields as possible uploaded. Any help would be MUCH appreciated!

Thanks Naveed-- I did read that article a little bit ago, which brought me to the original question I posted; It is possible to add ADDITIONAL fields to the Product Variant Upload other than the ones listed on that wiki article? For example, I'd like to have a Summary field, Description, Search Keywords, etc ...and all the other fields listed in the Original Product CSV Upload, listed below:

It seems not possible. If you want to import complete data for a product then you have to use standard product import (upload). After importing product data you can then import variants data for those product in 2nd phase using the Variants CSV import (upload) feature.

I have done it from a csv file that had both product and variant data in it.
First I did the variants and it did the basic product data also.
Then I changed the names on some of the headers in the file to match the product upload, then uploaded the rest of the product data using the sku to match the records in the dataport configuration. That eliminated the need to try to match up the variants with a product id by doing the upload in the reverse order.

Has anyone found a way to upload the product description and head fields when batch adding products?
