Download Variants using DataPort 7.6.248 and AC 7.0.1

I am trying to download a copy of our variants using DataPort 7.6.248 and AbleCommerce 7.0.1
I get two errors that say "Invalid Response from Server"
The export runs quite a while and then appears to finish. The only thing in the CSV file are three strange characters in the first cell.
Any one able to export their variants using Dataport?
