Dataport on local host

Post by toolsup » Wed Mar 30, 2011 1:46 am

Trying to test the Dataport on a localhost and are unable to connect.

Error message: Failed to connect - are you sure the store url is correct?

Store url: http://localhost:64919/ABLE/
Downloaded the latest version 7.6.248
Able Demo VERSION: 7.0.6.14312
Copied the files from Client API folder to the Bin and ClientAPI folders

When I browse here, this is the response.
http://localhost:64919/ABLE/ClientApi/C ... rvice.ashx

<?xml version="1.0" encoding="UTF-8"?>
-<ACAuthenticationResponse xmlns:xsd="http://www.w3.org/2001/XMLSchema" xmlns:xsi="http://www.w3.org/2001/XMLSchema-instance"> -<Log> <Message>Invalid or empty request, user authentication information missing.</Message> <ErrorMessages/> -<Error> <Code>1</Code> <Message>Invalid or empty request, user authentication information missing.</Message> </Error> </Log> -<VersionInfo> <StoreName>Jim & Slim's Tool Supply</StoreName> <Platform>ASP.NET</Platform> <StoreVersion>7.0.6</StoreVersion> <ClientApiVersion>7.6.14302.0</ClientApiVersion> <DataPortVersion>7.5</DataPortVersion> <BuildNumber>14312</BuildNumber> <BuildDate>11/9/2010</BuildDate> </VersionInfo> </ACAuthenticationResponse>

I have tried running the dataport normally and as the administrator.
Tried uninstalling and reinstalling

Any idea's?
Matt

Please double-check to make sure that the client API dll files were updated your store's BIN directory. You should restart the AbleCommerce application to make sure that caching isn't an issue as well.

Thanks,
Katie

I verified the files are updated.
I went in a deleted the existing firl and replaced them with the ones from the Dataport download.
I also stopped and restarted the application.
Still getting the same result.
Do you think it workin on a localhost may have something to do with it?
Also, I am running this on Windows 7 and reunning everything as administrator,
Matt

Store url: http://localhost:64919/ABLE/
There is a known issue with DataPort that it did not connects to Store URL's having port number while creating a new connection. However there is a workaround possible, try creating a connection to any other store that do not have PORT number in URL, and once successfully connected, you can edit the connection and change the URL with the one you actually want ( which have port number ) and save. The saved connection will work for future, as the issue only exists while creating new connection .

BTW. The issue is fixed but the fix will be available with the next release of DataPort.

Sounds good, but
I don't have another Ablecommerce store to connect too.

I also got this suggestion.

It is more then likely the port translation that is throwing it off. Please run the site without the port translation and try again.

Can someone point me in the right direction to change the port translation.

Thanks
Matt
