Uploading 7.0.7 store to local machine
Uploading 7.0.7 store to local machine
I am trying move my AC7.0.7 store to my local machine. I finally got the local install to work, so I used DataPort to download my complete store and then upload it to my local install. Whe I try to upload to local install, I get:
If I click OK it breaks my install.
If I click Skip it gives the following message
Error: The remote server returned an error: (403) Forbiden
The I have to click Cancel or OK liek a few thousand times. I actually have to shut it down with Task Manager, and then it breaks my install.
Does anybody know why this would happen?
Thanks,
Scott

Normally it's OK to increase those field sizes. Maybe you have some custom fields/field sizes in those tables? I've run into that message to increase fields a lot of times and have never had a problem.

Re: Uploading 7.0.7 store to local machine
No, I don't have any custom fields that I know of. I no nothing about databases. I don't even know how to change or add tables. Maybe I will try the entire process from scratch again. It's probably about the 25th time, but I will try it again.
The only modifications I have done is very minor code changes to page layout and/or function.
I would really like to get this working so I can purchase and install SEO Manager, and then get to work on other customizing.

Re: Uploading 7.0.7 store to local machine
OK, so I tried it again, even starting with a new download from my live store. Complete new fresh install of AC7.0.7 onto my local computer. Got the local store up and running. Used DataPort to upload to the local store and got the Database field warning. I clicked OK to change the field sizes and proceeded to upload. That's when I get:
Error: The remote server returned an error: (403) Forbiden
I can click OK or Cancel several thousand times until I get tired of it and simpl use tack manager to quit DataPort. Then I go to my local store and it no longer works.
I get the error page:

Re: Uploading 7.0.7 store to local machine
Hopefully this isn't a silly question. What version of DataPort are you using? There is a newer version for 7.0.7 than 7.0.6. It is backward compatible with 7.0.6.
Re: Uploading 7.0.7 store to local machine
I am using 7.7.254 and I installed the apropriate files to the BIN and ClientAPI folders in both the live store as well as the local

That all sounds right. One other thing you can try.
Find the DataPort application in your start menu. Its usually under All Programs >> AbleCommerce. When you find it, right click on the menu and click "Run as Administrator". I've had to do that on my Windows 7 machines to get the DataPort to work properly.
