DataPort 7.7 issues
DataPort 7.7 issues
Going from AC5.5 to AC7 and most of the data ported well, but I noticed the following things and was hoping someone could tell me if this is the expected behavior:
Re: DataPort 7.7 issues
Hello Sweeperq,
I remember that happened when we updated from 5.5 to 7 a few years back. I can't remember what actually caused the orders to become disassociated with the customers, but your not the only one to experience that.

Re: DataPort 7.7 issues
I believe it is normal for the transaction to not be transferred. The custom fields should have come across as templates and there might be many of them because of data naming anomalies. For example, if you had a custom field that said P.O.Box: and another that said PO Box, two templates would have been created.

Re: DataPort 7.7 issues
Thank you both for your feedback. Product custom fields did indeed port over as Product Templates. Other custom fields that we created did not. I was able to manually back-port them with some custom SQL. Was a little tricky when Ids changed, but we managed!
So glad to finally have our last store off of AC5x an everything into a common platform Too bad it isn't the latest version though.
Are there any major compelling reasons to go from AC 7 to AC Gold?
My biggest issue with AC7 at the moment is that if it loses the connection to the database for any reason it caches the bad connection and I have to recycle the application pool to fix the site. It doesn't happen very often, but it is pretty annoying.
