dataport and excel

I am thinking of purchasing ablecommerce. I am concerned that I can do at least some limited importing of product info from an excel spreadsheet. such as name, price, description, cost, manufacturer There is a lot of posts on dataport. I do not have great computer skills. Seems like there are some ongoing issues with this import. Would like to hear comments on whether the bugs have been worked out and how difficult it would be to do.

AbleCommerce DataPort is a stable utility for the purpose. And it is very easy to import basic CSV data for Products, Categories, Users, Orders etc. All of the known issues are already fixed specially from CSV import point of view.

You can download the latest released version of DataPort from:

DataPort vs. 7.0.34 supports AbleCommerce 7.0.0 SR2, SR3 stores. However for AbleCommerce 7.0.1 and 7.0.2 releases DataPort utility is not yet released.
