Load Balancing

Post by jason2 » Tue Jun 04, 2013 10:28 am

I see that the enterprise edition allows for 'load balancing'. Can someone explain what that means in the context of AC Gold as far as how it works? This is for a single store running on a single domain.

Is it simply a license allowing you to 'roll your own' load balancing and run multiple copies of the site, or does the load balancing actually synchronize files, sessions, etc between multiple servers?

How many servers are supported in a load balanced configuration?

Is the load balancing only for multiple app servers, or can it keep multiple database servers in sync as well?

Thanks!

Which enterprise edition are you referring to? There is no separate enterprise edition.

Hello Jason,

The enterprise edition includes an extra server license which can be used for load balancing purposes or to run a single store on a single server under a secondary domain. In the context of load balancing there are many tools for the synchronizing the files so that's something we don't get involved in. It is also not involved in any database load balancing. It's just the licensing to do so.
Thanks for your support
