Hiding New User Registration

I want to set up all new users from the admin side only. I dont want users to be able to register on my website. Instead, I want a message to say something like "Please call to have your account set up" etc. What is the best way to go about doing this?

If you are using AbleCommerce Gold R6, then it's super easy. From the Configure > Store > General page you can change a setting for Access Restriction to "Registered Users Only". Then modify the login.aspx page with any special message and phone number to call for account setup.

When this change is made, only registered users can view the store and make purchases. You can also make it so only users in a particular group can login and view the store.

Hopefully this is what you are looking for.

I am unable to upgrade from R5 to R6 due to my inventory software not supporting it yet. Any ideas for R5?
