If I create a web page and set its' visibility to "Private", will this keep search engines from crawling it?
I want to set up a landing page for promotional purposes and I want to limit access to a direct link so I can determine how well the promotion is working. I don't want people finding it in search.
Thanks,
Scott

Re: Private Web Page?
If you set it to private, customers won't be able to view it from a link. It has to been hidden for that. Theoretically, search engines won't find it unless there is a link to it. I've often wondered if Google finds links from people's emails, though.
