Mobile- Friendly GOLD?

Post by Chris Hadden » Thu Mar 19, 2015 10:24 am

I am currently still using ablecommerce 7.0.2 Just got a notice it will no longer be supported and the next day received an e-mail from google saying my site is not mobile friendly and if not fixed will not be shown for mobile searches. I guess it is time to upgrade... Two questions, I read that GOLD is supposed to be mobile friendly can people comment on that. Has anyone using the mobile application received this same e-mail warning from google?

The second question involves the long jump to GOLD 10. Will my current pages still have the same URL after that upgrade?

Thanks

Gold has a separate set of pages that are for mobile devices. Gold R10 also has a new responsive web design that the non-mobile pages can use and I believe some of your table traffic would benefit from them-the width is based on the width of the device . The mobile pages work well and your urls will stay the same for the non- mobile pages. The mobile links will have mobile/ before the page url Googlebase has a field for the mobile link and Web2Market's Googlebase plugin populates that field in addition to the normal url.
