Customer Accounts Disabled?

Hi Joe,

There is another discussion going on with disabled accounts here - viewtopic.php?f=65&t=18574&start=0

What is strange is that the account does NOT show as disabled to the admin user, but the customer is getting a message when trying to use the Lost Password form. I'm not if it's related to what you had been experiencing, but I wanted to keep you in the loop.

I just found 4379 disabled (isapproved=0) users on my client's site, which was upgraded on 1/16. Haven't had time to do any investigation yet, but I did go as far as seeing they weren't disabled before the upgrade.

has anyone investigated this further?

FYI I did some investigation, and the users went from enabled to enabled during the upgrade from 7.07 to Gold (I ran a backup immediately before/after the upgrade)

We never found a cause. Issue stopped happening after a few days without any explanation.

A more current discussion has been going in the the link I posted above. We finally figured out the issue and a fix is coming. The exact way to replicate the issue is only partially discovered.

Great to see you found at least part of the culprit. That was one really, really tough issue to nail down.

I know. It was going on over a year I think. I finally figured it out after we upgraded our own site to Gold and I was trying to login with a test account that I created in AC7. That's when we discovered that there were two users with the same email. (1 registered and 1 anonymous)

I still cannot figure out how this can happen in Gold though. That has been frustrating...
