How long should the new Full Text Indexing take? We've converted a 7.0.7 store to GOLD with
- 95,000 products (about 50,000 are currently visible)
1,500 categories
56,000 orders
26,000 users
After about 30 minutes after we converted the database we could start doing searches on the site. Searches are pretty fast, but according to the admin page, it says the indexing is still running (over 1,800 minutes).
Any guidance on this?
Thanks,
David Johnson

Hello David,
This is going to vary greatly by the servers performance and current load. If I'm reading your information in the post correctly it seems about another hour and it would be completed.
1800 products a minute * 27.77 minutes equals your 50k products, so it seems to be giving you correct information.
It's a new feature for me as well, so I'm interested to hear how it goes for you.

Wait... it says indexing is still running after 1800 minuets?
Cheers,
Logan

Actually, it's still going. The searches seem to be working - although we're having some odd results we're trying to work with.

No I don't believe that is correct. It somehow didn't detect that the indexing completed. When I did tests prior to release I indexed 1 million products and it only took a few hours.
If I were you, I would click to abort. Then this evening go to that page and request a reindex.
Cheers,
Logan
