Building source code

Post by arawis » Tue Feb 19, 2013 10:56 am

Hi All,
i've downloaded the source files and i notice that if i rebuild the CommerceBuilder.dll without making any changes then i get a considerably smaller file(i'm using VS2010), so i'm wondering if the original that i downloaded was built with some other files that were not included in the source files(GoldR3-b5078-SRC) - has anyone else noticed this - is it ok to build a release dll and use it?

TIA.

It is almost certainly due to our obfuscation (encryption). You can build a release dll and use it, but you would not be permitted to distribute it to others.

I noticed the size difference the other day in Able 7 and wondered why. (We inherited a site where the previous developers had rebuilt the source code, but I haven't figured out why that was necessary yet. We never do that.)
