Unable to expose Able Gold Category class in a Web Service

Is it possible to do so?

I'm getting serialization errors trying to expose the Category class as the return object in a web service.
Cannot serialize member CommerceBuilder.Catalog.Category.VolumeDiscounts of type CommerceBuilder.DomainModel.IPersistableList`1[[CommerceBuilder.Marketing.VolumeDiscount, CommerceBuilder, Version=7.8.4847.14163, Culture=neutral, PublicKeyToken=null]] because it is an interface
