Bug in handling Purchase Order Payments

Hi,

I am trying to check out using Purchase Orders. It's not working, plain and simple.

Here's the error I'm getting in the Error Log:

An error occurred during the checkout process. UserId: 1255053 / whatever@gmail.com Customer: What Ever / whatever@gmail.com / 1234567890
Exception: Object reference not set to an instance of an object. Stack Trace: at CommerceBuilder.Services.PaymentService.Authorize(Payment payment) at CommerceBuilder.Services.Checkout.CheckoutService.ExecuteCheckout(CheckoutRequest checkoutRequest, Boolean validateBasket)

It's failing when it tries to authorize a purchase order's payment. First of all, there is no payment gateway, so it should not be trying to authorize it or the authorization should be a simple pass-through success. I also tried using the AC test gateway while setting it to always pass and that failed as well.

Is this a bug or am I doing something wrong? Is there any workaround?

It should work if you don't have a gateway set an you have chosen the payment method type of purchase order. The customer just clicks to pay by purchase order and their order goes thru and the info for the PO shows in the admin.

Hi Judy,

I agree it should work, but it does not.

BTW, this site was upgraded from 7.0.7. Another site that was also an upgrade from the same fails in the exact same way.

Can anyone confirm this actually working in AC Gold? If so, was it a clean install or an upgrade?

I just set up a PO checkout method on an R4 test site and didn't get an error. This is with Able test data. Maybe something happened when you upgraded?

I think the problems I'm having might be related to some developers who worked on the sites before I inherited it from them.
