Question About Subscriptions (Or Recurring Payments)

I've been told that there is little management available within AbleCommerce for managing recurring payments -- basically expiration only. I'm wondering:

1. Does anyone have an addon available to manage recurring payments with paypal or authorize? Simple stuff like updating the credit card number/expiration date, possibly changing the recurring payment date?

2. Currently, does the cart receive a postback showing whether a recurring payment was made, and if it succeeded or failed?

Hello Steph,

I've worked before with the Authorize.Net Automatic Recurring Billing. I do not have an add-on specifically for ARB, however I am available for hire to adapt a previous client project to work for your site.

By leveraging both the API for Authorize.Net ARB and their Silent Post features, you can create a fairly useful recurring-billing management scenario in Able.

Authorize.Net ARB does have some limitations i.e. certain aspects of a recurring billing cannot be changed after the ARB is created. But overall just having the ability to auto-charge clients (without Able CC storage) and auto-generate an Able order each month is a huge amount of automation.

Currently Able does not include any sort of postback support for notification of ANet ARB processing. This is something we wrote ourselves to handle creating future recurring orders and notifying of failed payments.
