Controlling placement of ALT tags for SEO purposes

Post by Brewhaus » Tue Nov 12, 2013 2:39 pm

In trying to better optimize our websites for SEO purposes we have found that the ALT tag that is entered for a category or product does not show up in the first three ALT tags. Is there any way to adjust this? I assume that it is because of how the page is written by AC, so I wonder if it is something that we can control.
Update: I found that the existing ALT tags ahead of the category page ALT tag were not necessary, so we removed them and that pushed the category ALT tag up to the top three.

There is a similar issue in the BODY text. The keyword should show up in the first 50 visible words of the body (and also in the last 50 words), but there is no way that I can find for us to control this. What is written as a description shows up well after the first 50 words.

Does anyone have any thoughts on this?
