Site Still Does not Switch to SSL

Hi, there, I am new to AbleCommerce and need kind help for enabling SSL.

I recently upgraded our AbleCommerce from R1 to R2, plus applying R2 Service Patch to fix the SSL problem. However, the website still does not turn to SSL page. I have double checked "ssl.config" has been set properly. The dedicated server has SSL installed. When I tried to enable SSL on the Admin Panel (Configure/Security/System Settings/SSL Enabled), it showed up a pop-up window asking me to verify secure URL before saving. The secure page has never worked. I dare tried once just saved it "SSL Enabled" to true, then I had been blocked out from accessing the Admin Panel. I ended up going back to database, changed the "SSL Enabled" value back to "False".

Did I miss out anything, the upgrade and service patch were applied smoothly. Just SSL does not work out... Please someone with master-mind help out!

thanks,
David

Hi David,

Welcome to the AbleCommerce Forums!

It looks like your SSL certificate may not be valid. I cheated and found your licensed domain from your order information. Then I tried switching the domain over to https. There were two errors:

The certificate is not trusted because it is self-signed.
The certificate is only valid for WMSvc-480014-DB1

I don't think your store's licensed domain has an SSL certificate assigned to it yet.

Please let me know if you have any questions.

Katie

Katie, thanks for taking time to look into. Although my question was actually related to its sub-domain, but your information did provide the clue to fix it - our sub-domain does not have SSL installed. We do not have wild matching SSL certificate.

Based on your information, we did fix SSL certificate problem by server provider for the primary domain. Good catch, Katie.

In term of SSL test with sub-domain, I am able to use IIS7 self-signed certificate to test the R2 upgrade with security patch. Still on-going, will keep you posted.

thank you for the help.
