Help: Updating Gold R6 Dev License

Hi,

We had a dev site whose dev license key expired. The site was pretty much done other than some bug fixes. We got a new license key.

However, whenever I access the site, it takes me to the install page. I can continue with the installation and install the key that way, but that would wipe out all the customizations I made.

In older versions of AC, you could just surf to /install/updatekey.aspx and update they key there. This path doesn't exist in Gold R6. I also tried renaming CommerceBuilder.lic and accessing the site, but it still took me to the install page.

So, I renamed the install directory, restarted the site, and then got the following error message:

This file is required by IIS so that your website can be accessed without a file name specified.

To edit your home page, log in to the merchant administration and go to Website > Webpages.

If you are seeing this message from the browser, you either haven't completed the web based installation for the application or something has been misconfigured.

So, I'm at a loss. How do I upgrade the license without wiping out any of my changes?

You can try setting the site to use demo mode in the App_Data/ablecommerce.config file:
<item key="UseDemoMode" value="True" /> and then updating the key from the admin.

Thanks for the suggestion.

Unfortunately, it did not work. I did this and restarted the site, but it's still redirecting me to the install page.
