Cannot View CVV Data

A little about our small operation. We use Able Commerce to sell products on our website but do not have a payment gateway linked. We run all charges manually, after either calling or emailing the customer to confirm the order and quote FedEx shipping chares to derive the final order amount with shipping. When we go to View Account Information in the order, it is not showing us the CVV code the customer entered. How can we turn this on? TIA for any help!

This is something you are not supposed to see. CVV can not even be stored on the server even if it is encrypted.

@Viper7, CVV is used to verify that the customer has the credit card in hand during card not present (merchant cannot see the card) transactions. It is against most, if not all, credit card merchant agreements to store this number in any shape or form (even encrypted). It also violates PCI requirements to store the CVV, and doing so puts you at risk for thousands of dollars in fines and likely termination of your merchant account.

When you call to confirm the order, get the CCV and use it process the transaction.

In that case CVV is not stored anywhere. It is simply sent to the payment provider along with CC information for payment processing.
