AbleCommerce Shopping Cart Software

For the life of me, I cannot figure out how to setup and charge tax for my shopping cart customers in my local state. I only see two options: Alaska & Hawaii and Contiguous US. What am I missing? I only want to charge tax to customers in my state. Thanks in advance for any help.

First you need to enable taxes and pick your display options:

Next, make sure you have a tax code and that it is assigned to your products:

Last step, is to setup your tax rule by assigning it to the tax code, set the rate, and choose your address filter so it will only tax to your state:

It sounds like you will need to create a zone for your state as well:

It seems I am going to have to hire a programmer or some other person smarter than me to get taxes setup properly. Argh! Can we please bring back the simplicity of Able Commerce 5.5? All I need to do is be able to charge anyone from the state of Colorado a certain tax percentage, plain and simple. Currently, the only zone options I am seeing are "Alaska and Hawaii" and "Contiguous US". How do I add a zone just for Colorado? This should NOT be this hard!!!

Ok, nevermind. Got it. The key was to setup a new zone for my state, which was actually what should be done first here, as in Step 1.

8 years have passed since AbleCommerce 5, and the software has changed dramatically. There will be a learning curve and adjustment to the new interface. Every feature is documented, so reference or search the Merchant guide whenever possible.
