Max amount for Coupon

Is there a way to specify a maximum amount that a coupon is valid for?

I want to run a campaign with a significant discount coupon. The purpose of this campaign is to get new customers to try my product. I don't want someone using it to purchase a huge qty., maybe for resale.

It would be nice if I could specify discount off first item, or a qty. of 1.

Any ideas on how to do this?

There isn't a maximum value setting for the coupon, but you can set 1 for the 'Uses per customer'. There is also a Repeat setting, which if left unchecked, will apply the coupon only once on a line item.

I had it set to 1 use per customer. What I needed to do is set it up as an "Order" coupon as opposed to "Product"
