What meaneth this error? I had to comment out all the future query stuff to get the page to work.

CategoryGridPage4 displays categories, products, webpages, and links for only the selected category. Can you tell me how many of each of these items are in this category? It looks like you're running up against a maximum number of 'something'.

Yes, it is R8 and the site has 480 products in the category. They are coming from Able 7 (same number of products in category) and this is a dev site.

This happens when there is some code making use of SQL IN clause with more then 2100 parameters. Seems like SQL Server allows maximum of 2100 parameters within in clause. For example query like following will throw this error

SELECT * FROM ac_Products WHERE ProductId IN (1,2,3,4, ..................... 2200)

If you look in category pages we are making use of these future queries to minimize the N+1 loads. It means it tries to load all data that will be required during the display in minimal database hits. In other category pages where we directly load products you will notice there is an if statement warping future loads for products

The purpose of this if was specifically to avoid the case you just saw on CategoryGridPage4. This page was little different since we were load all nodes instead of just products. We should double check if counts are greater then zero and less then 2000 on this page to avoid exception.

I had to knock the size on the products down from 2000 to 400 to get past the error.

It turns out that while doing future queries where they are run as single batch it sums the in clause parameters for all queries

There are a total of 5 future queries which means 400 will result in 2000 parameters which is within limit. I thought every query will be able to have 2100 parameters while using future queries which does seems wrong.
