AbleCommerce Shopping Cart Software

This error was thrown when we were adding a product to an existing order. We clicked Add Product and it presents a search box with a selector to search by name or SKU. When I searched by SKU for the term "007-002" this error was thrown. I cannot replicate the error. We are on R9. Thanks, Austin

I don't remember which builds of Gold or if it was fixed, but there used to be/is a problem searching in the admin for keywords with a dash in them.

A similar issue is reported a few days back for a different location (Admin/Orders/Create/CreateOrder2.aspx) and is already fixed for our next release. I did tested on R9 build and able to reproduce the issue. This is something searching by SKU and paging. If you have search results more than one page using SKU and you click on paging link, nothing happens and the exception is logged.

For a workaround, you can take off the following line from object data source at Admin/Orders/Edit/FindProduct.ascx


This property is used to speed up paging. So the side effect is your search results page will be little slower if there are too many records. The proper fix to this issue is in back-end code. If you have source code, let me know if you need the back-end code change.

This issue will exist at every location i.e. searching by SKU and paging. So it is better to apply the proper fix other than fixing all locations by applying the above workaround.

At CommerceBuilder/Search/Providers/SearchProviderBase.cs, locate the following inside FindProducts method
and replace with

Yes, this is the same bug. You can apply the above workaround i.e remove EnablePaging="true" wherever it occurs. The proper back-end fix had resolved all the effected locations BTW.
