AC Gold with a CDN
AC Gold with a CDN
I am looking into ways to optimize the performance of our store and considering the use of a CDN, Was wondering if anyone have any experience with using a CDN with their store that they would be willing to share? Was it difficult to setup? Which CDN did you use?
We are on AC Gold R9 and will be moving to R10 in the next month.
Thanks

Dimi Goranov with Drundo Software Inc. developed an add on to work with CDN that looks interesting.

I would also be interested in moving all of our images, etc. to a CDN. I would love to hear your experience with this if you move forward.

Re: AC Gold with a CDN
Probably a good idea to move most static content (scripts, stylesheets, images, pdfs, etc) off to a CDN if you are going through the trouble. Since you are separating static content from the rest of the site a cookie-less domain is recommended for faster response times.
Re: AC Gold with a CDN
The link to the content delivery add just redirects to the home page, it looks like they maybe no longer offer it?

You can always make a feature request here http://ablecommerce.uservoice.com/abradley wrote:It would be great if Able provided support for a CDN out of the box
Re: AC Gold with a CDN
We still offer the CDN plugin, NetSuite and PayPal instant integration to customers hosted and managed by Drundo. This allows to better manage all code changes and offer high quality service to our clients.

So you don't offer the plugin outside of your existing clients. It may be something a few of us would be interested in purchasing.mikek wrote:We still offer the CDN plugin, NetSuite and PayPal instant integration to customers hosted and managed by Drundo. Go vote on that user voice guys!

Re: AC Gold with a CDN
We have a site using a cdn for images and I just replaced the image links with the cdn links. Most of the images call urls from the ProductHelper.cs so it didn't take long to do it. His images are named after the sku, so I created algorithms and he doesn't need to put the images links into the admin, he just has to put the sku in and make sure his image files are named accordingly.

Hello All,
Did some research awhile back on this in regards to an Amazon cloudfront configuration and it looked pretty darn straight forward.
http://aws.amazon.com/cloudfront/
If you left the SSL content alone (checkout/myaccount pages) it's pretty easy to configure on the Amazon side as well. I don't think it would be too terrible of a project if it get's the votes.
