Secondary Email Server Configuration

Post by NC Software » Mon Jun 08, 2015 5:07 pm

Please read and vote: http://ablecommerce.uservoice.com/forum ... il-sending

We need redundancy with email servers so an order or vendor notification, subscription, whatever, never goes unsent. Whether AbleCommerce creates a cache/queue system (preferred) so the emails will keep trying until succeeded or add a secondary server configuration. I'd also suggest looking at mail pickup folder configurations again with the idea of high volume sites cannot have emails not get sent no matter what. All servers have to be rebooted at one time or another.

I agree with you Neal that there should be some "beefing up" of the email side of the system. My approach I think is a little different though. I would prefer to see Ablecommerce have hooks into their system to allow 3rd party email platforms to manage the emails that are sent. ie: https://ablecommerce.uservoice.com/foru ... -for-email It would be great if the store emails could be offloaded to Mandrill. Then things like uptime wouldnt be a problem, and you can get the analytical features they offer.
