Discount Dialog Not Showing

I thought maybe I should start a new thread on this one.

For some reason, the discounts dialog doesn't show on my product pages of items from a subcategory where the discount is applied the to top level category. The discounts do get applied like they should but the product page doesn't inform consumers that their is a discount available.

If I put the product in the main category, the dialog shows like it should.

Let me illustrate:

I have a top level category; Workwear with subcategories for Pants, Shirts, Shoes, etc. Products are placed in their respective categories and the discount is applied to the main top level category; Workwear, like it should be.
When a discount is applied to a Category, then all of it's products in that Category and it's sub-categories are eligible to receive the discount. These items are totaled to determine the discounted amount.
The discount is applied correctly to all products in the subcategories. It's just that the discount dialog widget doesn't display.

It must be a bug, because it just doesn't make sense.

Hello Scott,

I was able to confirm this as a bug. A new issue has been opened and sent to the dev team. I'll try to update here when I get some feedback from them.

Thanks for reporting this.

Katie

OK. Thanks. I really do hate to keep bringing up this issue of discounts, but.....

This problem surfaced when I decided to clean up my product organization and not have ALL workwear items in the main workwear category AND the subcategories like pants, shirts, etc. I think maybe it was a little confusing for people and maybe even the search engines. My theory there is, that all those product summaries were repeated on various category pages and seeming to be duplicate content within my own site.

Thanks again.
