Quantity Option for specific products

We have a situation where some products can be purchased in quantities and other products can only be purchased as one item on the product page. We are able to hide the quantity updown control. We need to have the quantities control available for products that can have quantities and removed for products that do not have quantities. What is the best way to accomplish this?

How are you indicating the difference in products? If the quantity is for the one item product, you could set the max quantity on that item to 1.
I'm guessing that you have already tried that and your needs are different.

Initially, I wanted the option to completely remove the quantity text box and label for specific products that we do not allow quantity orders (software) but keep the quantity option for hardware. Thanks, this will work too.
