Is there a limit to the number of categories/sub-categories in a store?


Right now when I try to view the Categories tab in the product editor I get a timed out exception. Our developers says the request is timing out when trying to load all of the categories as a tree. I have tried deleting categories we are no longer using to reduce the number, but I'm still getting the exception.

We are using AbleCommerce GoldR9 (build 7670)

We don't enforce any limit on number of categories but huge number of categories can slow down category tree building resulting in page timeouts. You may try to increase request timeout for application.
