Issue with ShipStation sync back.

We use ShipStation because it lets us pick and choose carriers (UPS, FedEx, USPS) with best time in transit and rate.
Our site only offers the customer generic ship choices (Standard, Priority, Urgent) with FedEx chosen by us to generate rates in the background. This is so we can easily employ the genius of ShipStation to switch between the three carriers as desired.
Problem is that the hotlink url for the synced back tracking is designed to always be the ship carrier chosen at time of order (hidden FedEx), and cannot be changed. Result is customer confusion as to why his USPS tracking number is invalid at FedEx. This is counter to why merchants choose to use ShipStation in the first place.
Is there a possibility this can be corrected down the line? We’d like to have the sync back carry info about the actual carrier used.
Or, since we have all three carriers integrated, could there at least be a way for us to go into the order and manually change the chosen shipping carrier after the sync back so customer has the correct tracking URL?
