I'm trying to improve our page load speed. I have recently added a CDN, Cloudflare Pro Plan, which is working nicely with AC. We saw an immediate improvement in bounce rate and pages per session.
My next hurdle is improving the time to first byte, which is only about the hardware and code that is running on it. We run a dedicated web server and a separate dedicated SQL server, which is overkill for our current load. Our time to first byte is running between 900-1400 ms, which is way too slow given the hardware and load. I've been looking into IIS output caching, has anybody done this with AC before? I've done the basic setup for output caching, but it doesn't seem to work, I'm thinking the more advanced URL query method is required for AC implementation. Looks like this is done in the Web.Config file. For those that are unfamilar with output caching with dynamic content, here is a MS article: https://technet.microsoft.com/en-us/lib ... s.10).aspx
If anyone has experiance with output caching or other methods of speeding up page loads in AC Gold, I'd love your help, experience and advice.
Thanks,
Chip
